This assignment is an "advertisement" for legal library services. In one of my other assignments, there is an interesting quote from an employee of Goldman Sachs named Sara Smith,"When your needed,you're here. And if you're needed and not answering your phone,you won't be needed very long". This is what the library and the librarian must be. Westlaw and LexisNexis are open 24/7. The librarian has always been a key source in the research process, providing quality information and help when necessary. In order not to become extinct,the librarian must match the tough working conditions of those they serve.

Databases
What information do you need? An article written in Crain's Chicago Business a week ago or an article in The Economist written four years ago? You can get it in minutes! Just use your password to access the database. Uh oh. Forgot your password? Just give us a call!
Contract Negotiation
We think you probably do enough of that in your profession. We can do it for you! Is there something you would like to add to a particular database? Send us an email and we will let you know if it is something we can include in our annual contract negotiations with vendors.

How do I use Edgar? How do I use Thomas? What if I need information on how the process of real estate assessments works and do not have a background in assessments? Easy! Our staff has guides for using both Edgar and Thomas. Concerning assessments our staff has compiled the most recent information from The Cook County Assessors' office,The Du Page County Supervisor of Assessments,The Du Page County Board of Review and the Illinois Department of Revenue. In fact, members of our staff have recently completed courses from The Illinois Department of Revenue and have multiple copies of the textbooks. Email them if you wish to use a copy.
